Doctor – Tek Your Time [UK Tune of the Day]

25 Jan

Dangerous! That’s all I can say because if anybody is in close proximity to me when this comes on in the club, they will need to take a few steps back – I’m guaranteed to throw down some MisssN moves! Doctor has definitely got a hit on his hands with Chase & Status on production, the track has already had lots of airplay on BBC 1xtra.

Rhianna Performs Wins ‘International Female Artist Of The Year’ Award

24 Jan

Rhianna NRJ Awards 2

Rhianna must have barely recovered from her trip to London for the Hope For Haiti Now Telethon before she graced the red carpet at the NRJ Music Awards, held at Palais des Festivals, Cannes. As always Rhianna looked stunning in a white lace and silver foil gown.  The Bajan songstress performed Russian Roulette and walked away with the ‘International Female Artist Of The Year’ award. [More pictures of Rhianna’s outfit below].

Amber Rose Gets ‘Undressed’ for Paris Fashion Week

24 Jan
Kamber Paris Mens Fashion Week

Kamber hit the Junya Watanabe Show in paris

As per usual Kanye West and his ‘model’ girlfriend, Amber Rose continue to  draw attention wherever they go. The couple hit up Menswear Fashion Week in Paris last and have been creating a storm ever since the arrived. Never to be outdone (by themselves) Kamber started fashion week as a walking endorsement for fur, but the highlight of their visit so far has been the shredded dress (if you can call it one) that Amber donned for the Junya Watanabe Men’s Autumn/Winter 2010 show. Kanye obviously didn’t want to be upstaged so accessorized his black get up with some black studded Christian Loubouitin loafers.

If I’m honest, I do like the quirky orange number and Louis Vuitton purse Amber is wearing is quite quirky, although I will not be purchasing it in the near future but Kamber will probably be hearing from a number of animal rights groups shortly!

Banksy Documentary Debuts at Sundance

24 Jan

I haven’t put any art stories on the blog yet, so I was rather happy to find out that the illusive figure that is Banksy, has popped up and provided me with some material for a post.  The mysterious graffiti artist is the subject of a documentary, Exit Through The Gift Shop which will debut at the Sundance Film Festival later this week.

I’m pretty sure that we will not be seeing his face but at least it will give us a deeper insight about the life and work of an urban genius – hopefully this will be coming to a good arthouse cinema near me!

Check out the trailer.

Unorthodox – No Help No Handouts [UK Tune of the Day]

22 Jan

This is a bit of a throwback, but who said ‘Tune of the Day’ couldn’t feature classics?! This track by the West London crew, Unorthodox caused a storm when it first came out and truly put West London on the map (yay!). First Lady of Unorthodox, Nolay is rumoured to be planning a ‘comeback’, so it will be interesting to see how that pans out considering the scarcity of females in the UK grime scene right now.

The Stow – You Don’t Know Me (Live) [UK Tune of the Day]

20 Jan

I found out about this group earlier last year whilst doing a spot of PR at Sistova Production’s Style & Substance showcase. The Stow are amazing, and You Don’t Know Me is definitely a banger -you just can’t beat live music this.  They recently won the MEmusic and Nissan QASHQAI’s Online and Ontour competition and got the chance to go on tour with UK songstress, VV Brown.

Rhianna – Hard ft. Jeezy [US Tune of the Day]

20 Jan

I know I chose Rhianna’s Rude Boy as my ‘Tune of the Day’ not so long ago, but like I said then, I’ll always give credit where credit is due. So, today I’ve chosen Ri-Ri’s other hot single, Hard which is also from her current R-Rated album. Let’s be honest, Rhianna fan or not we all know this is hard!
