Video: T.I. – “I’m Back”

27 Apr

The King is back! Nope, I’m not talking about Elvis but Atalnta’s finest, T. I. who has just dropped the new video for his long-awaited single, “I’m Back”. He announced the video premiere via Twitter and in less than 6 hours it had already attracted nearly 14,000 views on Youtube. The video concept is simple with all the focus on T.I.P and mostly shows him driving his Ferrari around town and dropping a few verses in the studio, but somehow it really manages to visually capture the drama and emotion of T.I’s return. Personally, I love the way the video flicks between black and white and splashes of colour, it totally adds to the drama. A great comeback track and a great video.

“I’m Back” is T.I’s first release since leaving prison earlier this year and will feature on his forthcoming “King Uncaged” album due 17th August.

Video: Tyga – G-Shit ft. Chris Brown

27 Apr

Remember the leak I posted a while back for this track? Well, Breezy and Tyga have now put out  a video for “G-Shit”. These two seem to be banging out the videos at the moment, “Holla At Me” was hot. I’m definitely a fan of Chris Brown’s rapping, he’s got the swagg. If all their collaborations are as good as this then their pending  mixtape, “Fan Of A Fan” will be off the hook.

Diggy Tweets About His New Sneaker Line

Chivalrous Culture 2

Diggy previews the red/black pair

It seems that Diggy Simmons is proving that he’s not just a rapper but a serious fashion mogul. Earlier today he gave fans an exclusive glimpse of 2 sneaker designs from his forthcoming Chivalrous Culture brand via Twitter. The trainers look hot, I quite like the ‘Forest colour’ pair. Hopefully, they’ll be available over this side of the pond (but I doubt it somehow).

Photos: Alexandra Burke On “All Night Long” Set

Alexandra Burke

I don’t normally blog about Alexandra Burke, bot because I don’t like her but because I’m kind of indifferent to what she does or releases. However, I’ve just seen the pics from the set of her latest video “All Night Long” and she looks great. Loving the wardbrobe, really shows off her nice figure and is way better than anything they have dressed her in for her previous videos…it does however remind me of Gaga. Just saying.

Jay-Z and Beyonce Wow Fans At Coachella Festival

19 Apr

Jay-Z and Beyonce

Over the weekend Jay-Z surprised revellers at the Coachella Music Festival in California when hit the stage  wife Beyoncé to perform “Forever Young” which originally features UK singer, Mr Hudson. To be honest Beyoncé sounds great on the track, but Mr. Hudson’s vocals bring something special to it! Check out the footage below.

Minaj: I Don’t Want To Sound Like “Other Female Artists”

19 Apr

Nicki Minaj

Cash Money records has announced that Nicki Minaj will be releasing her highly anticipated debut album this autumn. Hopefully, the tracks on the album will be 1000% better than that monstrosity “Massive Attack” featuring Sean Garrett. I find it hard to believe how she can have great features but poor solo stuff. Hmmmm.

Nicki has even gone on the record to say that she doesn’t want to release material that sounds like “other female artists” in the game: “I want to start a new lane that one day, 10 years from now, girls will say, ‘I’m more of a Nicki Minaj type.”

Well, I have to break it to Miss Nicki, that with her ‘Black Barbie’ act the words ‘Lil Kim’ come to mind and the fact that she’s just gone and recorded “Hold Yuh” with Gyptian (where her flow sounds awfully like Foxy on “Oh Yeah”) she’s going to have to try a bit harder to get away from comparisons.

Anyways, I’ll be looking out for the new Minaj album. Guaranteed you will hear my thoughts on it.

Video: Giggs – Look What The Cat Dragged In

Giggs

If you were to ask me if I was a Giggs fan, I’d probably say ‘no,’ but when I really think about it I have taken great pleasure in bumping his last few tunes over and over on YouTube. lol. Anyways here’s his new video for “Look What The Cat Dragged In”.

Shout out to Grime Daily for the heads up.

Snoop And Dizzee At Glasto?

15 Apr

Snoop Dogg

According to some reputable sources at The Guardian, Snoop Dogg will be joining this year’s line-up at the festival of mud that is Glastonbury. If this is true Snoop will be the second rapper ever (after Jay-Z) to perform at the prestigious event.  And it gets better – rumours are also flying around that our very own Dizzee Rascal will also be taking to the stage. Other possible acts have been speculated as La Roux, Kate Nash and MGMT with Stevie Wonder confirmed as a one of the headliners. The already sold out concert will be taking place from June 23 to June 27 at Worthy Farm, Sussex.

Kanye Turns His Back On Electro?

14 Apr

Kanye West

If the latest rumours about Kanye West ‘taking it back to basics’ are to be believed, then it seems like Mr. West and the electro beat are no more. In a recent interview with The Red Bulletin DJ Premier said: “Kanye’s new album is strictly hard beats and rhymes. He’s totally done with electro. You’re gonna be surprised by what you hear.”

Kanye‘s fifth studio album, ‘Good Ass Job’ which is due for release this summer will feature top names such as Drake, Q-Tip and his new protégé Big Sean. Sounds interesting, but I guess we’ll see if going back to basics means he’s getting rid of that dreaded Auto-Tune.  Hmmmm [Kanye Shrug].
